Know what’s better than moms meatloaf? Our secret recipe for meatloaf sandwich stacker! This is the ultimate meatloaf sandwich recipe that will turn your leftovers into a whole new meal.
Mom’s Meatloaf
I’ll never forget the day when our son was going off to college and I asked him what meal he would like before he left the nest, he said “I want my mom’s meatloaf”.
There is nothing like good old fashioned comfort food to remind you of home.
Over the years, I’ve added my own special touch to my meatloaf recipe to make it mine. But to be completely transparent, I started with the Quaker Oat Classic Meatloaf Recipe over 30 years ago and it’s always been tried and true ever since.

I still start out with all the same ingredients as the original recipe, then add my secret ingredients.
What is The Sauce On Meatloaf Made Of?
Ah, the secret ingredient! You didn’t think I was going to keep the secret to myself, did you? My go-to sauce is Heinz Ketchup, hands down.
I now make my own ketchup that we use instead of store-bought, but ketchup has always been my meatloaf sauce. I add ketchup in the recipe itself, then I drizzle it over the loaf before I put it in the oven.
To be a little adventurous from time to time, we’ve used my suggestions below and enjoyed them all! Some prefer the BBQ while others like the onion soup, but we all love the ketchup so it remains our staple.
Have fun in the kitchen and experiment with different ones to find which one your family enjoys best.
